Tamron unveils new 28-300mm 10.7x all-in-one zoom lens for Sony cameras

Tamron has just launched the new 28-300mm f/4-7.1 Di III VC VXD (Model A074) ($899). This 10.7x all-in-one zoom lens is designed specifically for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, and is aimed at a wide range of photography needs and genres.

With such a broad focal length range of 28-300mm, this lens would be great as a carry-about lens for travel or portrait photography. However, despite its broad zoom range, the lens is lightweight and compact at just 5 inches (126mm) long and weighing only 21.5 ounces (610g), making it easy to carry and use for extended periods.

The lens is built with 20 elements in 13 groups, including one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and one LD (Low Dispersion) element, which minimizes chromatic aberrations. The BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating reduces ghosting and flare, ensuring clear images even in backlit conditions.

The VXD autofocus system ensures that you never miss a moment, capturing fleeting opportunities with speed and accuracy. The lens operates quietly, making it suitable for both photography and videography in quiet environments.
