A closer look at the Llano TurboCell 2-in-1 Battery Charger

I reviewed an interesting combination of a camera battery charger and an external power bank a while ago. That combination from llano gave the photographers access to charging batteries and other devices. I also mentioned in that review that a charger with an internal power bank was on the way. Well, it is here!

The new charger is available at their Amazon store. It performs the same functions with slightly different specs. The biggest advantage of the new charger over the original is its built-in power pack. Because of that, the TurboCell is a little larger and heavier than the original llano charger.

The power bank in the TurboCell is not as powerful as the separate unit I reviewed before. It tops at 12400mAh, 3.6V, 44.64Wh. The power bank I reviewed was rated at 20000 mAh. However, the all-in-one packaging makes the new unit more convenient to use.

The battery chambers are accessed by a latched cover instead of a magnetic one, and the batteries are kept in place by closing the lid and pushing them into the charger. The display shows the capacity of the power bank in numbers and the battery charge levels on either side of it in bars. Each bar on the scale is approximately 25%. When the charger is plugged in while charging, a fast charge icon may display if the power source is suitable for that.

In addition to charging the inserted camera batteries, the TurboCell can also be connected to other devices as a power source. There are two USB-C connectors on one side and each can be used for input or output. The back side of the box has specs and basic information about the charger as you can see on the right.

The manual is the usual too-tiny-to-read booklet. I scanned the English pages and created a PDF version that I can read.
